UPDATE:Hoosiers advance to Big Ten final

Victory over Penn State gives IU a chance to win tournament

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The IU men's soccer team advanced to the Big Ten tournament final by defeating Penn State 1-0 Friday night.\nFreshman forward Darren Yeagle scored the lone IU goal 10 minutes into the second half. Yeagle hit a hard, low shot from 25 yards from a pass by sophomore Brian Ackley. Once Yeagle struck the ball, Penn State keeper Conrad Taylor had no chance to save the shot.\nThe Hoosiers controlled the play in the second half, but failed to convert on several dangerous scoring chances.\nPenn State's best chance came with six minutes remaining to play. Sophomore goalkeeper Chay Cain saved a Penn State header from 12 yards.\nThe No. 9 Hoosiers snapped a three-game losing streak against the Nittany Lions with the victory. Penn State defeated the Hoosiers in the final of last year's Big Ten tournament 1-0.\nThe Hoosiers will play the winner of the Ohio State-Michigan game Sunday at noon in Columbus for the championship.
