ONLINE ONLY:Legendary folk family to perform sold--out show Saturday

Folk singer-songwriter legend Arlo Guthrie and family will be performing at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater this Saturday to a sold-out crowd as part of the Guthrie Family Legacy Tour.\nGuthrie is the son of musician Woody Guthrie, who is perhaps most famous for the song "This Land is Your Land", and dancer Marjorie Mazia Guthrie, who is a former member of the Martha Graham Dance Company, which performed in Bloomington earlier this month.\nGuthrie's official biography climas he was "born with a guitar in one hand and a harmonica in the other" and began performing at age thirteen, surrounded by older music legends like Pete Seeger and Lee Hays. He has since made a name of his own, most famously with the song "Alice's Restaurant," which was released in 1967. \nThe current tour, which runs from June 2006 through May 2007, is intended to celebrate four generations of Guthrie singing and storytelling. He will be joined by his children, Abe and Sarah Lee, as well as his son--in--law Jeremy Irion.\n"Grandkids are also promising to show up," Guthrie posted on the Web site for his record company, Rising Son Records. "There's no schedule. It's whatever, whenever and however -- in other words, the usual Guthrie approach to these kinds of things. I guess that's the best part of what the legacy actually is, the freedom to come and go with dependable inconsistency."\nGuthrie's appearance at the Buskirk-Chumley is presented by the 92.3 WTTS show "Over Easy," hosted by Todd Berryman every Sunday from 7 to 11 a.m. Information about upcoming events at the Buskirk-Chumley can be found by visiting www.buskirkchumley.org. \n--IDS staff writer Eric Anderson contributed to this report.
