Become more cultured in 30 seconds or less

What: El Nacimiento, a nativity scene made in Mexico.

Where to find it: \nOn exhibit in "Lost and Found: Art Through Recycled Objects," which will run through Nov. 4, 2007 at the Mathers Museum of World Cultures.

\nWhy you should care: Nativity scenes -- artistic representations of the birth of Christ -- are found almost any place where Christianity is practiced. In Mexico, the nativity scene is called "el nacimiento," while in France it is called "la crèche." While some artists depict nativities in two-dimensional paintings, three-dimensional sculptures and dioramas are also very common.
