'Rudy,' 'Hoosiers' writer on campus

Iraq war film \npremieres

WHEN: 7 p.m. Wednesday\nWHERE: Monroe County Public Library Auditorium, 303 E. Kirkwood Ave.\nMORE INFORMATION: Bloomington Peace Action Coalition presents the 2006 film "Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers," which will be shown in conjunction with more than 230 screenings across the United States. The movie was directed by Robert Greenwald, the man behind "Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price," "Outfoxed" and "Uncovered." According to a press release, "Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers" shows the lives of soldiers, truck drivers, widows and children whose lives have been affected by the "corporate greed in the reconstruction of Iraq." The film's running time is 80 minutes.

Biava Quartet plays guest recital

WHEN: 8 p.m. Wednesday\nWHERE: Auer Hall in the Simon Music Library and Recital Center\nMORE INFORMATION: The Biava Quartet, winner of the 2003 Naumburg Chamber Music Award, is made up of violinists Austin Hartman and Hyunsu Ko, viola player Mary Persin and cello player Jacob Braun. The quartet will perform "Quartet in G Minor, Op. 74 No. 3" by Haydn, "Quartet No. 2: Demons and Angels" by Stacy Garrop and "Quartet in G Minor, Op. 10" by Debussy. The quartet will also lead a master class from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday in Ford-Crawford Hall in the Simon Music Library and Recital Center. Both events are free and open to the public.
