Area arts council offers classes for all ages

As students get back into the routine of things, many will be looking for extracurricular activities. The Bloomington Area Arts Council offers a variety of classes ranging from dance to acting to photography and even jewelry-making. \n"Our most popular (classes) are ceramics, painting and poetry," said Roger Meredith, education director for the John Waldron Arts Center.\nRegistration for BAAC classes is underway, and the classes begin between Sept. 11 and November, depending on the class. Some of the classes offered are only one-day, crash-course workshops, while others meet multiple days. \nBAAC offers classes for people throughout the Bloomington area, so students can take classes with people in the community and have a chance to become better acquainted with the citizens of Bloomington. \nMany classes have age groups beginning at 16, but BAAC offers some classes for people as young as 12. More information on all BAAC classes is available by visiting the council's Web site at www.artlives.org and clicking on "classes." Visitors can also read a description of each class, find out how much the class costs, find out the beginning and ending dates of each class and find out what time the class meets.
