The next best thing to a concert

Are you a Basket Case? Does the word "Dookie" excite you? Have you ever classified yourself as an "American Idiot"? If any or all of these words mean something to you, then you should be all already familiar with the crazy antics of Green Day.\nGreen Day's latest release Bullet in a Bible, is a live DVD and CD from a concert the band played before 130,000 fans over two days in England. Bullet in a Bible contains 14 tracks. It's evenly divided between seven songs from American Idiot and seven of their most popular songs from the last decade. These include everything from "Holiday" and "Wake Me Up When September Ends" to "Longview" and "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)."\nThe production value of the CD is very good and it gives the listener the feeling that they are actually immersed amongst the crowd at the show. Unlike some live CDs where the crowd is edited out so the band can be heard better, in this production the crowd is incredibly loud. You can hear the crowd as they sing along with many of the songs and cheer along with Billie Joe. During songs when Billie Joe stops singing, the crowd fills in for him and is loud and clear. \nThe DVD is also a very nice addition to the package. It contains all of the songs that are performed on the CD as well as clips in between each song during which members of the band talk and show how they go about preparing for each show. The DVD also illustrates why the entire package was called Bullet in a Bible. If you are a fan of Green Day, the DVD will be of great interest to you because it features some very interesting interviews with all the members of the band. Even a casual listener should be able to find something interesting about the DVD in either the interviews or the concert footage itself. Plus it is always fun to watch Billie Joe run around the stage acting goofy to help liven up the crowd.\nOverall, the combo package is a very good buy for long-time fans of Green Day and for newer fans that started listening to Green Day after American Idiot. If you happened to catch Green Day on the American Idiot Tour you should definitely look into buying Bullet in a Bible. The DVD and CD are great to help you remember your Green Day concert experiences, as both do such a good job of capturing Green Day live.
