In the past two years, Jonathan Rossing has run 7 marathons, clocking in more than 180 miles in those races, plus the miles and miles of training. But this Communication and Culture PhD student's real dream? \n"If I could do anything, I would move to New York City and star in a Broadway musical." Though Rossing says that he would care which musical it was, he just wants to be on stage. Two of his favorites are "Rent" and "Wicked."\nRossing is an associate instructor for CMCL and an aerobics instructor at the SRSC. When he isn't busy training or doing school work, here is what this Texas boy is into:\nMusic\nPop stars like Jason Mraz, the Pussycat Dolls and the Black Eyed Peas help Rossing get his days going. "Classics I will always like are Madonna and Mariah Carey. I think she is back after all the 'Glitter' trauma."\nBeyond the pop royalty, he listens to a random shuffle of music from his computer or he will turn on the dance music station through Insight. "The music on there always energizes me."\nTelevision\n"'The Daily Show' is one of the shows I like to watch, but I don't watch it religiously."\n"Dead Like Me" is a drama that he's also into, and he likes "American Idol." \n"I used to watch it all the time, but I think I'm over it now."\nEvery Saturday you can find Rossing glued to College Game Day, especially if his alma mater, the University of Texas, is playing.\nMovies\nThere isn't one genre that he prefers to another. "I like movies that make you think. They could be a comedy, a drama or an action movie." Some of his recent favorites are "Crash" and "Batman Begins." \n"I like superhero movies but only the good ones, which I consider the new 'Batman' and 'X-Men' to be. It's action and something that sparks a conversation." \nOther notable classic he enjoys are "Contact" and "The Truman show."\nFood\nFor something quick he will go to Dagwoods, 116 1/2 S. Indiana Ave. or 1799 E. 10th St., and get a veggie sub. \nA vegetarian for more than three years, one of his favorite places to grab a meal from is Encore Café. "They have some of the best veggie soup."\nSports\nCollege Football and Tennis are just two of the sports that get Rossing's attention. While he's a huge UT fan, "I'll watch any big football game and for tennis, I really only watch the Grand Slam tournaments."\nDuring March Madness and the NBA playoffs, he'll tune in to watch basketball. "I really don't care about it until it matters"
