INDIANAPOLIS -- Gov. Mitch Daniels has authorized the sale of gasoline normally released in October, a move that will boost supply to try and offset any price increases expected from Hurricane Rita.\nTo reduce air pollution, federal environmental regulations require retailers to sell specific fuel blends for each weather season. Daniels said he hopes allowing the sale of October gasoline eight days early might boost supply enough to mitigate any price increases because of supply disruptions from Hurricane Rita.\nBut Daniels said he did not know how much the order could lower pump prices, if at all.
