Professor wins international award for achievements

School of Public and Environmental Affairs professor Patrick O'Meara will receive The Founder's (Casey) Award for Distinguished Achievement in Higher Education Planning. The award comes from The Society for College and University Planning, which is a 40-year-old international association. SCUP has nearly 5,000 members from universities, colleges, other instituions and consulting firms from the U.S. and 28 other countries. \n"The awards committee was impressed by the continuing efforts of you and your staff to integrate global approaches to teaching and research and your efforts to \nassist planning for higher education in the most challenging locations around the world, thereby continuing the legacy of Herman B Wells from your University," said a letter from SCUP to O'Meara.\nThe Founder's Award recognizes O'Meara's achievements in higher education planning, contributions to the literature and planning models. Recipients are nominated and selected on the basis of innovative contributions to improve theories and practice at universities and colleges. \nThe award will be presented to O'Meara July 24 in Washington, D.C., at the Annual International Conference and Idea Marketplace.
