In September of 2003, I signed up for a one year membership with the Bloomington Sportsplex. The payments were to be taken automatically out of my account on the 15th of every month. This was fine until September of 2004 when my account expired. Even though I was no longer able to use my membership because of its expired status, the payments continued to be made to the Sportsplex automatically for six months without my knowledge. I have complained to them on several occasions and they have refused to refund me the $192 they wrongly took from my account while I was no longer a member. It has been a nightmare. If you or anyone you know has a membership with the Bloomington Sportsplex, be wary of your checking account. If you are thinking of buying a membership with the Sportsplex, make sure you opt out of the automatic payment plan, or better yet don't get one at all. On the upside, I've gotten more exercise typing angry e-mails, compaints to the Better Business Bureau and Letters to the Editor than I ever did at the Sportsplex.
