MFA candidate showcase artwork\nThree IU Master of Fine Arts students present their works at 6 p.m. Friday in the Thomas T. Solley Atrium of the IU Art Museum. The works will be displayed through May 8 and represent the last group of MFA students presenting their theses this semester. MFA artists included are graduate students Sarah Son (painting), Matthew Ballou (painting) and Nate Sonnenberg (ceramics). All artists will present a short gallery talk on their works beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Exhibition creates open dialogue on racial stereotypes\nAyanah Moor and Phillip Robinson present "From Hip-Hop to Coal Funk" at the Indianapolis Art Center. A public reception will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, and a public conversation will begin at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The discussion will focus on the artists' work and how it mirrors and destroys black racial stereotypes and recontextualizes derogatory images into positive ones. Orchestra performs anniversary concert at high school\nThe Bloomington Symphony Orchestra will perform the final concert of its 35th anniversary season at 3 p.m. Saturday at the auditorium of Bloomington High School North, 3901 North Kinser Pike. The orchestra will perform under the baton of world-renowned guest conductor and BSO founder Geoffrey Simon. Featured works include the Symphony No. 4 of Brahms and Gershwin's Piano Concerto in F (with pianist Tamasa Ungar). For further information, call 331-2320.
