What's the funny walk for?

Please excuse any member of the IU football team if he appears to be walking a little funny. Coming off a 41-10 shellacking over Central Michigan, the Hoosiers may be a little bruised, but none was really injured. So if you see any of the Hoosiers walking weirdly, rest assured, they are alright. \nIt's just something commonly referred to as swagger.\nIU used good defense and solid play on special teams to dominate the Chippewas, who actually out-gained IU in total offense. Quarterback Matt LoVecchio appears to have found his stroke again, completing 64 percent of his passes including one touchdown and no interceptions. \nPerhaps most surprising was the play of the Hoosier secondary. Led by true freshman cornerback Tracy Porter, who had two interceptions and returned one 96 yards for a touchdown, the secondary frustrated the Chippewas in the area it hurts the most; the red zone. While Central Michigan did put up a lot of yards through the air, the secondary was tough on third down, shutting down the Chippewa receivers and limiting the Chippewas to just six third down conversions.\nThe victory means more than just a mark in the win column. It represents the end of a long search for the Hoosiers. What exactly were they searching for? Respect, a victory -- or just about anything positive -- come to mind. \nWhile the Hoosiers wanted all these things, what they were really searching for was a team identity. In the past, the Hoosiers acted and played with no personality, like they were just going through the motions, and maybe they were. But for everybody who witnessed Saturday evening's game, you saw a new team. You saw a team that played like it's out to prove something. But above all, you saw a team who looked like it finally had fun playing the game, and that's something that hasn't been seen here in a while.\nSo are the Hoosiers ready to take on, say Oklahoma or USC? \nProbably not. \nThe team still has a lot of work to do before they can celebrate. The offensive line needs to give BenJarvus Green-Ellis just a little more space to run through. The defense, which played spectacularly, needs to work on not over-pursuing the ball carrier. Overall, the team needs to work out the rest of the kinks, and they need to do it fast. \nNext week's game will be the Hoosiers' first test of the season as they head to Eugene, Ore., to take on the Oregon Ducks. While the Ducks will, no doubt, be heavy favorites playing in one of the most difficult stadiums in America, the Hoosiers get the opportunity to prove they're for real, even if they should return home with a loss.
