Students get free bus rides

Getting around Bloomington will never be freer than it will be today through Sept. 5. \nAll Campus, Bloomington Transit routes and Express Lines of Rural Transit will celebrate the first week of classes by providing bus services free of charge.\nThe annual "Free Week" will allow students to get acquainted with city and campus bus routes.\nBloomington residents will also have an opportunity to try the new routes BT has added to cope with traffic caused by the new apartment complexes downtown.\nThe 6 Campus Shuttle now heads south on College Avenue and stops at The Lofts (College and 11th Street), the 10th and College Apartments (College and 10th Street), and Smallwood Plaza (College and 9th Street). From College Avenue, the bus will travel east on 7th Street to north on Woodlawn Avenue to east on 10th Street, according to www.bloomingtontransit.com.\nFind bus schedules and maps at Bloomington Transit offices, 130 W. Grimes Lane; the Fourth and Washington streets transfer terminal, and online at www.bloomingtontransit.com.
