The body of a Bloomington man was found at the bottom of Lake Monroe late Sunday afternoon. The 52-year-old victim apparently drowned. The victim's identity has not been released pending family notification and an autopsy.\nIndiana Conservation Officer Angela Goldman told The Indianapolis Star the victim had been swimming at Fairfax Beach with a female friend and her children at around 12:30 p.m. The man swam to buoys 25 feet from shore and did not return, Goldman said. \nPerry-Clear Creek Fire Dept. Lt. Robert McWhorter said his department, which does not have a dive squad, was first on the scene following a 911 call received Sunday afternoon. \n"We tried to do a search in the water and couldn't find him," McWhorter said. Monroe County and Department of Natural Resources divers took over from there, he said.
