Rapper wants fans to 'beg' for more

That's the first rule of the rap game? If you blow up, put your homies on the spot while you're still hot. Biggie (Junior M.A.F.I.A.), Tupac (Outlaws), Busta Rhymes (Flip Mode Squad) and Eminem (D 12) have done it. Now 50 Cent follows with his clique G-Unit on Beg for Mercy. \n50 Cent is the hottest new act in the game and is trying to join the throne of current heavyweights with lasting power and street credit -- think Jay-Z, Nas, Eminem and Outkast. 50 Cent takes another small step on this album, despite the other two-thirds of G-Unit, Lloyd Banks and Youngbuck, giving extremely average performances. \nAmong the songs about groupies ("Groupie Love") and car fetishes ("Stunt 101") are some deeper, more sincere songs. "Footprints" has the best hook on the album, rapped by 50 Cent. But 50 doesn't rap on it, meaning listeners must sit through three unappealing verses in between. \nNotable tracks include the Dr. Dre-produced "Poppin' Them Thangs," the thug-lovin' "Wanna Get to Know You." 50 Cent continues his beef with Murder Inc. and Ja Rule on "I Smell P****." 50 Cent remains hot on Beg for Mercy, but don't expect any other soloists to come out of G-Unit.
