President Adam Herbert has been selected to speak at winter commencement Dec. 20 in Assembly Hall, IU officials announced Friday.\nThe commencement ceremony, which will be presented to a total of 1,959 eligible graduates this year, includes a formal presentation of the graduating class by IU-Bloomington Chancellor Sharon Brehm. Herbert then will follow with his speech. \nThe Rev. Linda C. Johnson, associate rector of the Trinity Episcopal Church, also will deliver the invocation, and Gwyn Richards, dean of the IU School of Music, will lead musical accompaniment to the processional and recessional, and later will lead the graduates in singing the alma mater and the national anthem.
