Pink parades punk persona

Pink started as a pink-haired R&B singer. Then she dabbled in the arena of teen pop-rock with her second album, M!ssundaztood. Now, she's shed the teen image and dye job on her newest album Try This to attempt another genre -- punk.\nHowever noble the attempt, she failed. Although in photos on the album cover and in the booklet Pink is trying her best to look punk, she ends up looking more like Britney Spears' slutty evil stepsister. \nRather, the product is punk lite with a dash of R&B vocals and a smidgen of dance.\nNot that there's anything wrong with the music itself. The lyrics are a little cliche, alternating among themes of being a party girl, hating people and finding an ideal man, but the album itself is upbeat and edgier than women like Spears.\nAlthough Pink has failed at reimagining her image and musical style, it's still definately singable enough to make it in the "sing loudly and dance when nobody's looking" hall of fame. \nThe special edition of the CD also includes a bonus DVD of photos, lyrics, an interview and the video for the hit single "Trouble." Although the video is pretty good, nothing else will interest audiences unless they're big fans.
