INPIRG works on recycling campaign

The Indiana Public Interest Research Group, a student activist group on campus, is currently working on its annual recycling campaign. INPIRG is working to get recycling programs for off-campus apartment complexes. Also, as part of the campaign, they surveyed over 200 students in four of the biggest apartment complexes in Bloomington, held a press conference to release the report and had more than 500 students sign a petition to their apartment managers asking for recycling programs. They also worked at the Monroe County Solid Waste Management District. They recently received a grant to launch a three-year pilot program to have recycling bins and collection programs at targeted apartment complexes.\nFor more information on their campaign, log on to www.inpirg.org.
