A children's movie based on the adventures of a cute little fish became the top-grossing summer movie of 2003.\nNow, Disney/Pixar presents a 2-disc DVD set that includes both the widescreen and fullscreen versions of the film, commentary, documentaries, games and various educational tools for younger viewers.\nOf course, the DVD is worth the price simply to get a copy of the film, which is one of Disney's best. However, many of the special features are almost as interesting and entertaining as the film.\nSome features are not really worth the viewer's time. For example, one feature features a story read-along, which was clearly designed for kids only. The interviews by the characters, which feature a zany faux-news anchor interviewing the fish, comes off as obnoxious, not clever.\nHowever, the 25-minute documentary "Making Nemo," which explores the behind-the-scenes aspects of the movie, is incredibly informative and very interesting. The documentary is full of trivia, anecdotes and a dose of good clean humor, which makes the 25 minutes fly (or swim) by very quickly.\nThere is also an interesting National Geographic-esque documentary about coral reefs starring Dory, Marlin, Nemo and Jean-Michel Cousteau, which explains environmental issues that need attention.
