Snyder honored by NHL teammates\nATLANTA -- On a night of tributes to Dan Snyder, his former teammates gave him the best one -- a season-opening victory.\nChris Tamer scored with 2:24 left on a pass from Shawn McEachern as the Atlanta Thrashers capped an emotional night with a 2-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets Thursday night.\nThe Thrashers' plan to give the puck from the winning goal to Snyder's family.\n"There's not a better feeling, this is what we wanted to do as a team," Atlanta coach Bob Hartley said.\nSnyder died Sunday night from injuries sustained in a car wreck with All-Star teammate Dany Heatley, who was charged with vehicular homicide. The Thrashers -- Heatley included -- were scheduled to travel to Elmira, Ontario, for Snyder's funeral today\n"We did this for Dan Snyder and his family, and Dany Heatley and his family," Hartley said. "It's been one of the toughest weeks of our lives. There still will be days when we'll feel sad and we'll have to pull some strength from somewhere."

Pacers' Croshere out 2-4 weeks\nINDIANAPOLIS -- Indiana Pacers forward Austin Croshere will miss two to four weeks with a pulled left hamstring, team officials said Thursday.\nCroshere was hurt with just under 10 minutes to play in Wednesday night's exhibition opener against the Chicago Bulls. He said Thursday he was bumped by a defender, went up for a shot and "felt a pop."\nCroshere will undergo an MRI exam Saturday, team spokesman David Benner said.\nCroshere said he was not sure how serious the injury was at first, but "as soon as I started my back pedal, I knew I was going to have to come out"
