After this weekend's TIS/Taylor Invitational, the IU women's volleyball team might be feeling a sense of déjà vu.\nThe Hoosiers hosted the second annual invitational and matched their performance last weekend in Miami at the Hurricane Invitational, almost to an identical situation.\nLast weekend, the Hoosiers took the first two matches of the Hurricane Invitational, beating Kent State and Manhattan, respectively, before falling to Miami in the championship match.\nThis weekend, the team started the TIS/Taylor Invitational well by dispatching of IUPUI and Southeast Missouri State, but eventually fell to Wisconsin-Green Bay in the championship match of the two-day event. The final match of the event went to a deciding fifth game, but Wisconsin-Green Bay soared out a 10-1 advantage and the Hoosiers were unable to mount a comeback, as Green Bay won the fifth and final game 15-5.\n"I would definitely say we had our ups and downs," coach Katie Weismiller said in a statement. "There was a big swing in momentum. There were times we saw some real bright spots and some times where we really struggled. You have to credit Green Bay. That is a nice team. They controlled the ball, and they played hard. They did a lot of things to get us out of our offense."\nIn the first match of the tournament, the Hoosiers dominated the Jaguars of IUPUI, 30-23, 30-15, 30-25. Juniors Katie Pollom and Christina Archibald and senior Melissa Brewer led the Hoosier attack Pollom finished with 12 kills and a .688 hitting percentage. Archibald recorded 16 kills, while Brewer collected 15 kills. \n"I felt like we ran a faster offense than we did last weekend, especially with me," Pollom said in a statement. "I felt like I was connecting a lot more, and again that all stems from the passing, and the intensity was just there."\nIn the second match of the event against Southeast Missouri State, the Hoosiers lost the first game of the match, only to come back and take the next three en route to a 30-32, 30-27, 30-15, 30-26 victory. Junior Victoria Zimmerman distributed 61 assists, and junior Beth Heimann hammered out 19 kills, and Archibald continued her stellar play pounding out a match-high 22 kills.\n"I think that Christina Archibald does a wonderful job when she takes over and gets the job done," SEMO coach Cindy Gannon said in a statement. "I thought the setter (Victoria Zimmerman) did a wonderful job on the offense. Good teams always come back and find a way to win."\nIn returning to the theme of similarities between this week and last week, the Hoosiers placed two players on the All-Tournament team, just like last weekend. Those two players were Brewer and Archibald. \nThe team's performance this weekend moved their record to 4-2 on the season. The Hoosiers next take the court Friday in South Bend, Ind., where they will face Notre Dame and South Carolina in the Notre Dame Invitational.
