It's been a while since a good action comedy came out, and by god, this is one of them. Jackie Chan returns as Chon Wang in this sequel to "Shanghai Noon" with his buddy Roy O'Bannon played by Owen Wilson. Wang is living happily as the sheriff of Carson City, Nev., when he is informed of his father's murder by a scheming British Lord (Aiden Gillen). Wang's sister, Lin (Fann Wong), is already hot on the killer's trail in London, and so off go Wang and O'Bannon to Victorian England for a romping good time. The fight sequences are fresh and creative and the story cleverly incorporates historical figures such as Charlie Chaplin, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and even a cameo by Jack the Ripper. It all just adds to the entertainment, people.\nThe DVD itself is loaded with bonus materials such as "Fight Manual" and "Action Overload," two features focusing on Chan's fight sequences that include interviews with both Chan and director David Dobkin. There's the usual writer and director commentary track as well. Also included are a host of deleted scenes that are entertaining to watch, but one can see why they weren't included in the movie. This is definitely something to watch for pure entertainment on a lazy summer afternoon.
