One last show

Barber Brothers perform with original group at Bear's Place

The Barber Brothers return today to the Jazz Fables stage at Bear's Place. Cover is $5 at the door, and the show begins at 5:30 p.m.\nThe evening will celebrate the 23rd birthday of Roland Barber, who plays trombone, and Rahsaan Barber, who plays saxophone. This will be the brothers' last show with their original group, the Barber Bros. Jazz Quintet, before they move back to Nashville, Tenn. Both brothers completed their artist diplomas in jazz studies.\nThe evening will consist of originals and covers of sax master John Coltrane and famous trombone player J.J. Johnson, who is originally from Indianapolis.\nThe brothers graduated from the IU School of Music in December 2001.They have played in David Baker's IU Jazz Ensemble, the IU Soul Revue and with jazz artists Christian McBride and Greg Osby.
