Men's golf heads to Marshall Invite\nWinning a golf tournament is hard in itself, but defeating the No. 1 player in the nation to accomplish that feat is something to brag about.\nThe Big Ten is doing the bragging for sophomore Heath Peters, who was named conference player of the Week for his performance at the Johnny Owens Invitational last weekend after he finished ahead of the number one player in the country.\nPeters will bring his success to Huntington, W.V., this weekend in the Marshall Invitational at the Par-72, 6,456 yard Guyan Golf and Country Club. \nThe Friday-Saturday tournament will be IU's fifth of the spring season.\nThe line-up for this weekend will be sophomore Jeff Overton, Peters, senior captain Ben Davidson, freshman Scott Seibert and senior Aldo Jordan.\nThe No. 23 ranked IU Hoosiers travel to Michigan this weekend to face off against the Wolverines and the Michigan State Spartans. The team enters the weekend with a 3-1 record overall in Big Ten play and will most likely need a sweep in order to stay competitive in the Big Ten standings. \nSenior Petr Novotny is geared up for this weekend's matches and said he believes the team will need both wins.\n"This is something that we have to do," Novotny said. "We have to win both matches." \nSince there is a good chance of inclement weather this weekend, interim coach Matt Pledger said his team must adjust to indoors\n"Michigan's indoor courts are extremely slow and Michigan State's courts are like lightning so we will have to adjust if we want to sweep these two teams," Pledger said.\nPuckett cleared of assault charges\nMINNEAPOLIS -- Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett was cleared Thursday of all charges in the alleged sexual assault of a woman in a restaurant bathroom.\nA jury of six men and six women deliberated nearly 12 hours over two days. Puckett sat still as the verdicts were read, then hugged his lawyers.\nThe 43-year-old Puckett, who played his entire career for the Minnesota Twins, was accused of dragging a woman into the men's room, forcing her into a stall and grabbing her breast hard enough to leave a bruise.
