SoFA Gallery exhibit celebrates women

SoFA Gallery exhibit celebrates women\nPhotographer Renee Cox will lead an artist's talk at the opening festivities for "Feminine Persuasion." The exhibition is a celebration of women in collaboration with the Kinsey Institute's 50th anniversary series of the publication of Alfred Kinsey's book Sexual Behavior in the Human Female. The exhibit consists of three companion exhibitions. "Feminine Persuasion: Women Artists in the Kinsey Institute Collection," "Feminine Persuasion: The Male Perspective" and "Feminine Persuasion: Contem-porary Women's Sexualities" The speech begins at 5:30 p.m. at the School of Fine Arts Gallery Auditorium (Room 015). A reception will immediately follow the speech. This film festival is part of the 50th anniversary of Alfred Kinsey's "Sexual Behavior in the Human Female." This week-long series showcases women directors, lesbian films, and female stars who tested the censors' ratings in their various portrayals of sex and gender.
