Men's tennis to host Louisville\nIU men's tennis team looks to continue their hot start this weekend when they host No. 37 Louisville Cardinals today at 5:30 p.m. at the IU Tennis Center. The Hoosiers will follow that match with another dual meet tomorrow at 3 p.m. against the Memphis Tigers. \nThe Hoosiers enter the weekend with a record of 4-0 including two impressive upset victories over Notre Dame and Middle Tennessee State who at the time were ranked No. 27 and No. 37 respectively. \nThe matchup between the Hoosiers and the Cardinals looks to be a very even one as both teams are undefeated. The Hoosiers and Cardinals have faced off against one common opponent, that being Middle Tennessee State. The Hoosiers defeated MTSU 7-0 where the Cardinal won 5-2. Leading the Cardinal attack will be previous Conference USA player of the week senior Paulo Carvalho and current Conference USA player of the week senior Cody Conley, who is 5-0 in singles play. \nOn Saturday, the Hoosiers will face a 1-1 Memphis team that is coming off a very tough loss this week when they were just beaten by the No. 24 ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs 4-3. The Tigers will be led by one of the best double teams in the nation in senior Ben Stapp and junior Lee Taylor Walker who are currently ranked 12th in the nation.\nMeadows, Pollard reportedly agree to lower salaries\nINDIANAPOLIS -- Tackle Adam Meadows and tight end Marcus Pollard reportedly have agreed to reworked contracts that would save the Indianapolis Colts about $2.6 million toward the NFL's projected $75 million salary cap in 2003.\nThe two veteran starters will receive signing bonuses to make up for lower base salaries, The Indianapolis Star reported Thursday.\nMeadows' base salary of $4.5 million will drop to $530,000, but he will get a $3.97 million bonus, agent Brooks Henderson told the newspaper.\nCardinals sign left-hander\nST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday signed left-hander Rick Ankiel, who missed all of last season with an elbow injury, to a one-year contract.\nAnkiel will be paid $400,000 if he makes the major league roster and $320,000 if he lands in the minors. He's expected to compete for a bullpen spot, meant to lessen the pressure on a pitcher plagued with wildness, when the team reports to spring training next Friday.\nAnkiel, 23, won 11 games as a rookie in 2000 but since then has struggled with his health and his control. He last pitched in the major leagues in May 2001.
