Career Day to offer opportunities

The Networking for Success Career Day, sponsored by the IU Student Alumni Association, will take place today from noon to 5 p.m. in the Tree Suites of the Indiana Memorial Union. Throughout the day, IU alumni will lead panel discussions on their careers. At 4 p.m., there will be a networking reception in the Frangipani Room. IU Alumni President Ken Beckley will also speak. \nAll students are welcome.\n"We wanted to give students an opportunity to make contact with alumni from a career that interests them," Erin Nigh, the event coordinator, said. \nThe Career Development Center will host informational sessions to give interested students insider tips on how to improve interviewing skills, how to market and how to network. \nAreas represented include law, government, education, sales, management, finance, event marketing and healthcare.\nOn Thursday, the Arts and Sciences Placement Office is hosting an internship fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the IMU Alumni Hall. Over 60 employers will be on hand to take resumes, schedule interviews and build networks. Companies in attendance include Finish Line, Lazarus, Kohl's, U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Children's Museum of Indianapolis.
