Annual antique sale kicks off

Local "Antiques Roadshow" fans and shopaholics alike will be in heaven this weekend as the 42nd annual Kappa Alpha Theta antique sale hits the Bloomington Convention Center, 302 S. College Ave. \nThe show will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $6 at the door and all of the weekend's proceeds will go to community charities.\nIndependent antique dealers from all over the Midwest will sell wares that include furniture, dishes, silver, oriental rugs, fine linens, jewelry, children's toys, and much more. Shoppers can enjoy food and desserts prepared, at the Theta-run country kitchen.\nTheta members have worked almost all year to organize the project, making dozens of phone calls to the vendors. They have also fervently put up signs and flyers around Bloomington these past few weeks to advertise for the show.
