Turkish poet Week of Events ends with lecture, readings\nThe Turkish poet Nazim Hikmet Week of Events will commence today with several events, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the poet's birth. Ibrahim Bastug will present a lecture about "The Originality of Nazim Hikmet" from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Dr. Ataol Behramoglu and Professor Kemal Silay will give a poetry recitation in Turkish and English from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. "Poetry Unites" -- a poetry reading in world languages and reception from 7 to 8:30 p.m. All events are in the IMU State Room East. The week of events is sponsored by the IU Ottoman and Modern Turkish Studies Chair and the IU Turkish Student Community.
