Timbaland doesn't run out of beats

First of all, when is Timbaland going to run out of tight beats? While he hooks up other artists with a guaranteed club hit, he saves his best head-noddin' beats for his favorite, Missy. Miss E. hits you this time with a collage of different styles and types of songs, prefacing them all by saying some variation of "This is a Missy Elliott exclusive."\nNow, unless you've been under a rock and just don't want to be found by civilization, you have probably heard the song "Work It" and know it's bananas. The funny thing is that "Work It" isn't even the best song on the album. It's not even the one with the best beat. "Work It" is just something to whet your appetite for what is to come on this disc, which means you can make a pretty convincing argument if you wanted to say this was her best album.\nThe first track that you're going to notice right off the bat is "Bring the Pain." If the title sounds familiar to hip-hop heads, it should. Timbaland has gone and remixed Method Man's original. It's hard to make a hip-hop classic better, but if you like Timbaland production, you'll love this fresh look.\nThis isn't where he stops. I guess Timbaland was on a remix bender because on the track "Funky Fresh Dressed," Ms. Jade raps over another remix as Timbaland goes back in the day to resurrect the almost-forgotten but now-rejuvenated Beastie Boys song, "Paul Revere." I don't even think you have to like Timbaland beats to love the new take on this song. \nThe song "Slide" was my favorite. Its cryptic beat and frantic bass line make it different than anything you will hear or have heard in a grip. If one enjoys dancing like a madman (or mad woman, because women can be mad as well), you will have this one on repeat for a while. \nMissy pays tribute to her fallen friends, Aaliyah and Left Eye, in the intro and outro, and she collaborates with Ms. Jade, Method Man, Ludacris, Beyoncé and 50 Cent, with Timabaland of course throwing in his signature sound bites. I'll admit to not really liking Missy Elliott for more than her beats, but her lyrics on this album are surprisingly complex and good. A classic? No. Worthy of stealing from a friend? Absolutely.
