Homecoming Events

Thursday, Oct. 17:\n• Yell Like Hell -- 7:30 p.m., Alumni Hall, Indiana Memorial Union.\nSponsored by the Student Alumni Association, Yell Like Hell gives student groups a chance to demonstrate their school spirit by showcasing three-minute singing, dancing, cheering or dramatic acts. These activities will be complemented with performances by IU acapella groups Ladies First, Straight No Chaser and the nationally recognized IU Pom Squad.\nFriday, Oct. 18:\n• Homecoming Parade -- Begins at 5:30 p.m., Willkie Quad.\nThe 44th annual homecoming parade will feature IU football coach Gerry DiNardo as Grand Marshall. The Parade will feature alumni, student groups, residence hall representatives and greek representatives. It will also include the Marching Hundred, RedSteppers, Cheerleaders and the Pom Squad. The route will start at Willkie Quad, go down Third Street and end at the Sample Gates.\n• Pep Rally -- 6:30 p.m. Sample Gates.\nFollowing the parade, a pep rally will be held at the Sample Gates with Coach DiNardo and team captains. Fireworks will follow the rally.\nSaturday, Oct. 19:\n• 15th Annual Homecoming Brunch -- 9 to 10:30 a.m., Mellencamp Pavilion.\nAlumni and friends will have brunch in Mellencamp Pavilion, along with light entertainment.\nTickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under.\n• Homecoming Football game -- Hoosiers vs. Iowa, 11:10 a.m., Memorial Stadium.\nIU will take on Iowa Saturday. During pre-game and halftime, the Homecoming King and Queen will be announced, as will as the winners of the parade float and window-painting contests. The Marching Hundred Alumni Band and alumnae RedSteppers will also perform.
