The case of the stolen statue "SOUL," which has been missing from the Indiana Memorial Union courtyard since April 2, was reopened Thursday after IU Police Department received two tips, IUPD Sgt. Tim Lewis said.\nDetective Richard Seifers is the investigator on the case, and is actively following the tips. Seifers said Wednesday he could not comment on specifics in the case until the investigation is completed.\nLewis said the tips did not include locations, but a tip of someone who might know something about what happened to "SOUL."\n"It's good that we're getting any information because we went quite a while without knowing anything," Lewis said.\nThe artist of the sculpture, Fayette, Ind. resident William Snapp, was happy to hear IUPD reopened the case.\n"That's exciting," Snapp said. "That's good; that's what we're hoping for."\nIMU preparator Rand McKamey said if the statue is returned, they will work to repair any damage that may have been done to it, and return it to its position in the courtyard.\n"Having it back would certainly be good," McKamey said.
