Ground-penetrating radar may be the newest tool used to find the body of missing IU student Jill Behrman.\nAt a Wednesday afternoon press conference near Salt Creek, investigators said they are consulting with the IU Geological Department and with crews on site about the possibility of using radar to find Behrman, who disappeared while riding her bike in May of 2000.\nCrews, using large and small pumps and two dams, have drained the majority of a 1.4 mile stretch of Salt Creek. They have found items connected to Behrman, but not her body.\nBloomington Police Department Detective Marty Deckard said that, if used, the radar would work much like a CAT scan.\nWhile parts of the creek bed are already exposed, Deckard said there are still pools of water on the ground that are slowing search crews.\n"We've exposed an area of land that has been under water for hundreds of years. I don't expect that mud to dry up any more," Deckard said. "You see that water, but three feet around that water is three feet of muck."\nCheck tomorrow's IDS for a full story on the search for Jill Behrman.
