Eigenmann rearranged

Cafe and c-store relocate to former arcade area on ground floor to make space

As a part of the on-going renovations at Eigenmann Hall, both the dining facility and the convenience store located in the basement will be moved to the former arcade space on the ground floor, making room for projects in the basement area.\nRenovations initially began on Eigenmann earlier this year, with hopes of retaining upper class students in on-campus housing and improving the quality of life in the dorms, Pat Connor, executive director of Residential Programs and Services, told the IDS in April.\nHalf of Eigenmann Hall began undergoing renovation in January. Initial repairs included repiping of the heating and air systems as well as some work in rooms, such as painting and updating the furniture. \nSandra Fowler, director of Dining Services for RPS, said the store is moving to a new location within the building by the spring semester. Eigenmann will retain some of its café style food services, Fowler said.\nSome of the staff at the International Café are leery about the proposed changes.\n"I think they may have to cut back on workers if they make the store smaller," sophomore Lisa Tooley said.\nSophomore Carolyn Kamber, said she agreed with Tooley's sentiments.\n"I think they should have it here, it works fine here," Kamber said. "(RPS) really doesn't tell us much, just that they were gonna do something different."\nSophomore Leah Reid, a front desk assistant, is hoping for the best.\n"I don't think it will pose any problems as long as we get the same service."\nSTORE LOCATIONS ON CAMPUS\n• Convenience Store at Willkie\nOpen M-F, 10 a.m. to midnight;\nSat. & Sun., noon \nto midnight\n• Convenience Store at Wright\nOpen daily, 10 a.m. \nto 10 p.m.\n• The Marketplace & Convenience Store at McNutt\nOpen daily, 10 a.m. \nto 10 p.m.
