Community board nice idea, wrong reasoning

"So in an attempt to improve... we're building a separate staff of seven to construct our opinions." ("New staff, same goals," Aug. 30)\nI'm sorry, I'm still laughing from that line. Someone (the online edition still doesn't have the name of the writer) has a good future in politics.\nIsn't the point of the editorial page to voice the editors' opinions? To have the people who make the day-to-day decisions of what gets in and what is left out of the paper give us a hint of the biases that influence those decisions? \nSome kind of community board is a nice idea, but hardly seems to replace the need for the IDS editors to come out from hiding.
