Nellyville

Nelly may have ticked off a lot of IU students last year with his short concert, but that's no reason to pass up his latest album, Nellyville. Not only does it include the latest single, "Hot In Herre," but also "#1" and a remix of "Roc The Mic" featuring Freeway, Beanie Sigel and Murphy Lee. While these are the songs that have already hit the radio waves, all the other tracks have major chart-topping potential.
Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child and Nelly collaborate for a song called "Dilemma." It's got a smooth R&B sound with amazing vocals from Rowland. Fans will also get to hear Nelly sing in this serious song about being in love with someone when you've already got a significant other.
Nelly's shot at singing instead of rapping doesn\'t end there. In "The Gank," he sings about a girl he loved who hit him up for everything he had and left him high and dry. While it starts out like a love song, it ends with her leaving him. The beat and music on this track are incredible, and could be one of Nelly's best songs.
Nelly doesn't seem to be afraid of what other rappers in the industry will think of him. The "Girlfriend" remix with boy band N'Sync must not have been enough for Nelly. "Work It" features a duet with Nelly and Justin Timberlake of N'Sync. The unique and unmistakable voice of Nelly works great with Timberlake's vocals. The song is hip and will surely hit the clubs sometime this year.
Nelly has a voice and a sound that is almost always heard at clubs or parties around campus, whether or not his concert was any good during Little 500 week of 2001. Nellyville is good enough to make up for the short concert. The Grammy nominated artist has struck it big this time around with Nellyville.
