N. Ireland peace process needs more momentum, Irish leader says

LONDON - The British and Irish governments must give renewed momentum to the Northern Ireland peace process, Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern said Sunday as he called on all sides to help ease simmering sectarian tensions.\nAhern and his British counterpart Tony Blair have agreed to hold crisis talks on the 1998 Good Friday agreement in a bid to end clashes between rival Protestant and Catholic groups in Belfast.\nUlster Unionist leader David Trimble, who is also the province's first minister, lobbied the leaders last week for an emergency meeting as fresh accusations of Irish Republican Army activity threatened to split his power sharing government.
