IU, Purdue team up to offer master's degrees to GM

Indiana's two largest university rivals are putting aside competition for a partnership that will provide graduate education to future management at General Motors Corp., using the latest in information technology, according to a press release.\nIU and Purdue University announced April 23 that the Kelley School of Business and Purdue's Continuing Engineering Education program will join to offer a master's of business administration together with a master's in engineering.\nThe offerings will be available via distance education directly to GM professionals. GM is Indiana's largest private-sector employer.\nThis new program will enable GM employees to earn the double-degree from their home or office using distance learning through the Web and other media.\nLook for more on this story in Monday's IDS.
