Enrollment up for summer classes

Summer school enrollment at IU Bloomington has increased slightly in the just completed six-week short session, marking the second year in a row that summer enrollments have risen.\nThe two-year upward trend marks a break from four previous years of declining summer enrollments. First summer session enrollment figures show 9,091 students took classes during the short six-week session that ended June 14. That is a slight 0.4 percent increase from last year.\nSummer enrollment has generally been about 23 to 26 percent of overall student enrollment each year since 1993. But summer session enrollments have risen in some years that the overall student body has fallen and shrunk in years when the student body grew.
