Jill's House receives donation

Future patients at Jill's House will be able to enjoy an entertainment center at the outpatient residence because of the generosity and dedication of this semester's Business X333: Integrating Business class. Catalyst, a charity concert event hosted April 5 by the X333 class, raised approximately $4,300 in donations for Jill's House, said Peg Howard, president of Jill's House.\n"(Catalyst) was extremely successful," Howard said. "This is really a class with a lot of leadership ability and a great deal of enthusiasm, and I was delighted."\nAccording to its Web site, Jill's House's mission is to "provide a temporary, home-like residence for patients undergoing outpatient therapy at the Indiana University Proton Therapy facility in Bloomington."\nHoward said the money raised from Catalyst will go toward an entertainment center for Jill's House. \n"I talked to the class on Thursday, and I believe we will provide a TV, DVD player and CD player because the people there are going to need something like that," Howard said. "The class seems to be in accord with that, but, of course, that isn't written in stone."\nThe group needs to raise close to $5 million for the project to be complete, according to its Web site.\n"Overall we've raised in the $200,000 range," Howard said. "And we've gotten quite a few commitments, but we don't have the actual money yet."\nJill's House will be located across the street from The Proton Therapy Center, which will replace the IU Cyclotron Facility at 2401 N. Milo B. Sampson Ln.
