What is it these days with white boys who think they can rap? Bad Ronald releases its self-titled debut album, complete with no musical talent and an absence of morals.\nBad Ronald, according to the group's Web site, www.badronaldmusic.com, was named after a TV horror movie of the same name from the 1970s. Consisting of three emcees and one DJ -- Doug Ray, White Owl, Kaz Gamble and DJ Deetalx -- Bad Ronald's members each contribute what they can to this disappointing album.\n"Let's Begin (Shoot The Sh**)," which appears on the album both in the first track and at the end with a rock remix, is the group's first single and the video seemed somewhat exciting when it first appeared on MTV. "Let's Begin" is a track that gets you moving, especially with the Chumba Wumba-esque chant in the chorus rapping about living your life by smoking pot and drinking while you still can.\nThe second track, "Bad Idea" sounds similar to sorely missed Sublime, rapping about, among other things, getting it on with a college girl in a dorm. The song says it was a bad idea. Ya think?\n"All A Dream" combines sounds reminiscent of the Beastie Boys and Smash Mouth, with the emcees really rocking out on the chorus.\n"Delivery" is a prank call to a Chinese take-out restaurant with one of the emcees rapping out their order to the woman on the phone, proving it to be a useless track. \n"Hand On The Wheel," features short but soulful, sweet intro vocals by Zelma Davis in this song which raps about having oral sex while driving and getting pulled over by a cop while smoking pot. Hmm, I am starting to sense a theme on the album.\nAmong the other not-so-hot tracks on the CD, this album boasts, "1st Time" which is about a sexual experience so great it feels like it's his first time. Degrading, demoralizing and distasteful lyrics and themes run rampant on the record.\nLooking for good rap? Look elsewhere. Looking for a beverage coaster? Only if you find this disc in a Dumpster.
