Parking Operations grace period ends Monday

For IU students parking at "D" spots on campus without a valid permit, the grace period ends Monday at 7 a.m.\nWith students moving into residence halls, and families flooding Blooimgton to send off their sons and daughters, Doug Porter, parking operations manager, said IU Parking Operations is not enforcing these zones today and this weekend. But come Monday morning, as the start of school nears, Porter warned that only cars with valid permits should park in "D" spots.\n"We're still enforcing the employee spaces. And come Monday, we will enforce all "D" spots," Porter said.\n"D" spots surround all halls, offering students easier access to move in to campus. Porter also said that cars parked illegally will still be ticketed in all "A", "C" or "HC" spots.\nAlong with the "D" grace period, IU Parking Operations has allowed a grace period on all "E" spots until 7 a.m., Oct. 1. "E" spots are located across campus, although the majority are at the stadium complex on 17th Street.\nPorter suggests students without a "D" pass Monday, move their cars to the stadium lot.\n"Come Monday, the dorm students should even have their "D" permit and park in the proper lot, or move out to the stadium and park in the "E" lot while they settle things," Porter said.
