For weeks now I\'ve been using the grill, cooking my own hamburgers, chicken and kabobs and enjoying the nice weather while cooking outdoors. But on a day when my time is filled with going from class to class, getting last-minute homework done and craving a burger, I decided to leave it to the professionals. At Malibu Grill you can sit back, relax and take a break from your running around and enjoy the atmosphere.\nMalibu Grill is located at 106 N. Walnut St., less than a ten-minute walk from campus. Whether you just want a drink or something to eat, Malibu is a nice, quiet place to get away. Malibu Grill has a full bar offering beers, wines and spirits that can add to the pleasantness of any meal.\nThe Malibu Grill is open for lunch and dinner and offers a wide selection of American food and more. Appetizers range from simple chicken fingers and jalapeno poppers to something a little more serious like the smoked salmon and trout plate or crab cakes. Lunch menu options include a variety of salads such as the grilled salmon salad, chicken salad and caesar salad, a small selection of pastas and a variety of sandwiches that include a portabella mushroom sandwich, prime rib sandwich, chicken sandwiches, crab cake sandwich and a variety of burgers. The dinner menu expands to include more pasta options, rib-eye steak and filet mignon all cooked in a variety of ways to try and please you. Another addition to the dinner menu includes pizzas and calzones specially cooked in a wood-fired oven.\nFor lunch I could not resist my craving for a burger that looked good as I walked in and saw one go by with a waiter. From the selection of burgers and sides I ordered the bacon cheddar burger with fries. Both were good -- I especially liked the waffle cut fries, but for the health conscious out there, beware. The burger and the fries were extra greasy and filled me up right away. Too full to eat any more, I had to pass on the range of desserts I wanted so badly to try, such as the Malibu mud pie, the five-nut brownie a la mode and the peanut butter cream pie. \nAlthough I was not impressed with the greasiness of my burger, the quiet and comfortable atmosphere of the Malibu Grill did catch my attention. It is a nice place to get away from the hustle and bustle of campus and Bloomington. The burger and fries were too much for me, but I wouldn\'t mind a dinner next time to try out a steak or a wood-fired oven cooked calzone.
