By running ad, 'IDS' promotes hate

I have withheld the impulse to write a letter to your publication a number of times, but after reading the full-page advertisement by David Horowitz April 13, I can no longer avoid expressing my disdain. \nThis "advertisement" was very thinly veiled white supremacy, pure and simple. Your willingness to publish this ad is irresponsible. Now, you may think I am advocating censorship here, but I am not. Mr. Horowitz should be more than welcome to write an editorial expressing his views, much as I am doing here, but your publication is not obligated to publish an ad by him.\nSure, his idiocy is exposed to the masses in this very public forum, but he is also spreading his message of racism and hatred. Publications of all kinds routinely refuse certain ads. Likewise, certain advertisers refuse to have ads in certain publications. That is how the marketplace works. In choosing to run Horowitz's ad, having done so presumably in the name of "free speech," you have contributed to oppression and hate. Way to go, IDS! You've done it again!
