The choice of Mike Davis as head coach is not as interesting as the way this was handled by a questionable staff. After insisting an analysis was to be made following the season, with a decision to be made for the long term, it took a committee one meeting to arrive at a "clear" choice? What were the alternatives? Who else was contacted? Was anyone else interested? When did you find that out? \nDavis might turn out to be great, but "surviving" a year where injuries and schedules distort statistics does not makea dossier. Michigan can tell you about how making an "automatic" decision can backfire. Cam Cameron is a great guy, too, but it ain't that much fun in the basement.
Coaching decision taken too lightly
