Coach Cam Cameron found out 10 days ago that his star quarterback, junior Antwaan Randle El, will return for his senior season.\nNow, Cameron knows who Randle El's quarterback coach will be.\nCameron announced several coaching changes Monday, and Gerald Carr's appointment to quarterbacks coach was one of them. Carr will coach the quarterbacks and coordinate the Hoosier passing attack.\nCarr comes to Bloomington after 19 years of coaching, many of which he spent at the collegiate level.\nCarr began coaching at Davidson in 1982 and has since coached at Akron, Washington State, Arizona, North Carolina and Wake Forest. He spent last season as quarterbacks and wide receivers coach for the Carolina Cobras of the Arena Football League. Carr also coached wide receivers for the Philadelphia Eagles.\nOne place Carr hasn't coached yet is in the Big Ten.\n"I am really looking forward to joining the Indiana staff and to be afforded the opportunity to coach in the Big Ten conference," Carr said. "Over the past few years, Indiana has had a very impressive offensive football team, and I am hopeful that I will be able to assist with its continued success and improvement." Cameron echoed Carr's enthusiasm.\n "I am very pleased to add someone of Gerald's experience to our staff," he said. "He is an excellent teacher and will play an instrumental role in (our) offense. I also expect him to bring great energy and enthusiasm to our program."\nCarr's joining the staff isn't the only change Cameron announced yesterday, as Anthony Thompson and Marty Fine will both tackle more duties this season.\nThompson, who served as assistant head coach on an interim basis last season, now takes on that job full time. He will still coach running backs as well. Fine will now coach special teams and continue as tight ends coach.
