Jordan River Forum: United Way right to cease funding

I would like to congratulate the Monroe County United Way for ceasing to fund the Boy Scouts for not signing the anti-discrimination document. I am an Eagle Scout and gay. Ten years of my life were spent in the scouts, and I learned a great deal. In addition, I taught several scouts leadership and confidence through leadership workshops. Not once did my being gay ever affect how I was as a scout.\nIt pains me to see the Boy Scouts say that I am not worthy to be a scout leader, or that gay kids should not be in the Boy Scouts. It may be a private organization, but major funding comes from good organizations like the United Way. I admire the United Way for taking a stand against discrimination, and for promoting tolerance for the groups it represents. Good job!
