Any Given Sunday: Special Edition Director's Cut

DVD review

Oliver Stone's football epic, starring Al Pacino, Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz, was met with mixed reviews last winter when it opened in theaters. Now it has been released on DVD with about seven minutes of additional Stone staples -- gratuitous sex, drugs and violence. And of course these qualities never hinder a film.\nIn addition to the controversial new material, the disc contains a documentary entitled "Full Contact: The Making of Any Given Sunday," a "phat" L.L. Cool J music video, interactive menus, notes on the stars and director, theatrical trailer, scene access, both English and French subtitles and the film is presented in widescreen.\nThe solid acting, frenetic camera work and breakneck pace of the movie, along with the extras, combine to make the "Any Given Sunday" DVD pleasing to both gridiron junkies and film fanatics alike.
