“Spotlight on Poverty: Step Up!”, an event examining both worldwide and local poverty, will feature two short documentary films discussing poverty eradication efforts in Bloomington and Leon, Nicaragua, 6 p.m. Thursday at Eigenmann Hall.

Fraternity spring rush season begins

Fraternity spring rush kicked off last Saturday on campus. Spring rush is typically smaller than fall recruitment and only lasts two weeks from the kickoff.

End of course evaluations move to online format

Students and faculty were given the chance to ask questions and reveal concerns to a panel of campus administrators about the move to online course evaluations, a decision that was approved last April.

Office of Diversity plans MLK events

The Office of Diversity, Equity and Multicultural Affairs planned the event. Kathy Smith, the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration planning committee chair, said this year’s theme for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday is “Living King’s Legacy: Making a Career of Humanity.”

Big Ten leaders meet at IU to discuss policy

IU Student Association will lead the Association of Big Ten Schools conference, a gathering for the executives of student body governments from Big Ten universities. The conference will run Friday through Sunday.

IU came in at No. 39, one spot higher than last year’s ratings, on a 2013 list of Best Public College Values recently released by Kiplinger. The new rankings also place IU fourth in value within Big Ten schools.
