There's something about performing siblings that will, if you're like me, make you cringe. Not that there may be anything with the music; I mean my God, look at the Jackson Five, but the whole idea often stinks of false sentiment that begs for a sort of "aww, they're family" response. The Bloomington native brother and sister duo, Annette & Luke, avoid such responses because they're just plain good musicians. Really good when you take into account the fact that Luke's acoustic work can make Justin Bieber tolerable and turn Tom Petty's "Free Fallin'" into a lullaby. Catch the pair tomorrow at Bear's Place.
